About the Singers
Harpreet Singh
A modern-day minstrel rooted in Sufi and Malhar traditions, Harpreet weaves soulful poetry—Bulleh Shah, Kabir, Faiz—into contemporary melodies. A versatile presence in India’s niche music circuit, he blends folk sensibilities with spiritual depth, offering immersive live experiences across festivals and intimate settings.
Salman Elahi
A Mumbai-based singer-songwriter famed for his Hindi/Urdu compositions—most known for the track “Pahadon Mein”—Salman blends Indian pop and indie with poetic sensibility. His collaboration with Harpreet on the single “Khidki” marks a seamless blending of modern indie-pop textures with folk-poetic depth
Vedi Sinha (Aahvaan Project)
Writer, storyteller, vocalist and performer based in New Delhi. Founder of the Aahvaan Project (2016) Vedi brings Nirgun philosophy to life through workshops and folk music performances aimed at fostering inclusive reflective dialogue in communities and art spaces.
Sumant Balakrishnan (Aahvaan Project)
META Award–winning guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter who co-founded the Aahvaan Project in 2016. Through folk-infused storytelling and Sufi-inspired music, he explores Nirgun philosophy and the works of Kabir, Lal Ded and Lalon Fakir, creating dialogues on love’s timeless relevance. Active since 2008, Sumant champions independent music through spaces like Dastaan Live and Aahvaan.
