RAMSAY and Simon Williams are bringing a cool evening of jazz and other interesting music to the Art House on Nov 15th. This iconic duo of saxophone and piano is sure to provide a fun evening out with fulfilling music!
Bios
RAMSAY is an established Ottawa musician, arranger and composer playing at venues such as the NAC (National Arts Centre) with the Ottawa Jazz Orchestra, Centrepointe theatre and occasionally playing with Ed Lister's Prime Rib Big Band. RAMSAY studied jazz at Humber College in Toronto on the saxophone, flute and clarinet and continues to bring a diverse perspective to the jazz scene with experience in latin, pop, RnB and Rock music. Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Simon Williams is a Toronto-based up-and-coming pianist, composer, arranger, and audio engineer. Recognized for his often unorthodox and memorable musical style, Simon incorporates elements from various musical traditions in his work by fearlessly embodying a postmodern philosophy that connects with a diversity of listeners.Simon has played across Canada, including in Alberta, BC, and Ontario, notably at Koerner Hall and Massey Hall in Toronto. He has been featured at a plurality of festivals and on Toronto’s JazzFM 91 and frequently composes on commission for jazz ensembles (primarily big band) across the country, in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.Simon holds a Bachelor of Music from Humber and maintains a busy schedule as a bandleader, composer, sideman, transcriber, producer, arranger, and educator.

IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO
We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down.
We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options.
This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
