About this Event

Dr. Monica Dekle, conductor. Wesley Monumental Choir. 42-piece orchestra. Alysa Smith, soprano. Nicholas Davis, baritone

Proceeds benefit Wesley Monumental Member and Purple-Heart Veteran Ryan Davis and his wife and son, Asia and Knox.

The concert is a monumental piece of music by Ralph Vaughan Williams about the horrors of World War I, the looming World War 2, and the desire for peace. The final movement is gesture similar to that of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony: the baritone stands up and asks us to be strong, and the chorus and orchestra ring out with bells and celebratory sounds of a New World greater than the former: where God shall assemble all nations and tongues, where nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and where Truth shall spring out of the earth.

Thank you for supporting the long tradition of exemplary music at our historic church.
