Health minister Simeon Brown is trying to ban trans youth from accessing puberty blockers, whilst allowing cisgender youth to be prescribed the exact same medication.
All youth deserve access to quality medical care, including our trans rangatahi. Gender affirming care is essential medical care. We deserve to make our own decisions about our bodies, with support from our whānau and healthcare professionals, based on evidence and not transphobia.
The court has delayed Simon Brown’s ban from coming into effect. Now is the perfect time to make some noise for trans youth and show the government that we won’t allow our young people to be targeted.
