About this Event
On World Children’s Day 2025, 20th November, the MRCI will host a rally to change Government policy of denying workers their right to be with their families in Ireland.
We need to show the Government that this injustice cannot continue — and that thousands of workers and families are demanding change.
Why It Matters
Workers on General Employment Permits:
- Must wait at least 30 months before even being considered for family reunification.

- Often remain separated for up to seven years due to unfair income thresholds.

Meanwhile, workers on Critical Skills Employment Permits can bring their families immediately and without income restrictions.
This policy is anti-family, anti-worker, and inflicts real emotional and psychological harm.
