About this Event
This 2-class workshop provides a more in-depth experience into the fascinating world of Raku. Class1: Students will slab construct 1 Gnome, add creative emblishments and prep for Raku firing the following week. Class 2: Students will paint their gnomes using special Raku glazes and fire them up to 1800. After reaching 1800, ghomes will be pulled out of the kiln using protective safety gear and equipment and placed into a reduction chamber (trashcan full of combustibles). After 15 mins, Gnomes will be removed, cleaned up and available to TAKE HOME! That’s right! Raku is the only ceramic firing process that you take your pots home the same night! Please show up 5-10 minutes prior to class
Workshop Dates and Times: 12/6 & 12/15, 6-8pm
Workshop is suitable for Ages 6 & Up. Under 14 must have parent supervision
Refund/Cancellation Policy: Rescheduling/class credits only available within 48 hours from purchase date. Otherwise 50 % credit towards Make at Home kit will be issued for missed classes due to illness, Covid, emergency etc.
