About this Event
When people hear the word research, it can sound academic or complicated, but in reality, research is simply about finding things out and listening to people’s experiences.
Our Raising Voices in Research Roadshow is a friendly, informal event for community and voluntary sector organisations on the Isle of Wight who want to find out how they — and the people they support — can have a voice in health and social care research.
This event is about making research more accessible and ensuring community voices help shape future research that affects local lives — so health and care is better for everyone. There is no pressure or obligation to get involved afterwards.
Why come along?

Learn what research means, without the jargon.
· Meet researchers face-to-face Listen to short talk and find out about areas of interest. Have informal conversations with researchers who want to listen and learn.
· Shape future research Help ensure future projects are relevant, inclusive, and accessible.
· No experience needed You don’t need any prior research experience.

About Raising Voices in Research
Raising Voices in Research (RViR) was created in November 2022 to increase under-served communities’ involvement in health and care research. It is delivered by a partnership including Action Hampshire, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Winchester.
Over 30 voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations have already been involved.
