Free Early Literacy Workshops for your FamilyMarch 25-May 13 | Mondays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
One of the goals of Kyrene's 2023-2028 Strategic Plan is to improve early literacy rates in the District. Beginning with the kindergarten class in 2024-25, at least 85% of kindergarteners will meet end-of-year DIBELS reading benchmarks, so that by 2027-28, at least 85% of students in grades K-3 are meeting end-of-year benchmarks
Raising A Reader is a national program designed to educate parents and caregivers about the importance of early literacy skills and how they can help build these skills in their young children, to help them enter school ready to learn. Parents attend eight weekly early literacy workshops with their children 0-5 years-old. Families who participate in the program receive 12 high-quality children's books to build their home libraries and are connected to local resources.
