All the sales of all our donated treasures always go directly to support our shelter animals. This year we a have a very important project at the shelter that needs funding. A new roof. Since the structure was built in 1972, the roof has been patched several times but we are at the point where it can no longer be repaired.
Over the years, leaks have caused significant damage to the inside of the shelter costing us thousands of dollars to repair. We are now concerned about the potential of mold in the shelter and its effect on the health and well-being of the Rescues, as well as our staff and volunteers.
We received a quote from Hammer Roofing which came in at $31,300. The job is being done on a direct cost basis and we are only being charged for materials and labor.With Hurricane Season upon us, we need to have our 52-year-old roof replaced as soon as possible!
