June 1st + 8th 10:30am-12:30pmCreate a museum worthy piece of art in this two-day workshop. Literally translating to writing with glass, vitrigraph is a kiln formed process that allows the artist to manipulate the flow of hot glass by hand! On day one, students will learn the method of pulling colorful vitrigraph strands of glass to lay-up onto a clear 10"x10" to fire into a pattern sheet. A demonstration of preparing the pot of glass for the kiln will be shown prior to pulling the glass, but the kilns will already be set-up and ready for day one of class. On day two, students will cut up their prefired pattern sheets into squares and reassemble onto a base glass of clear or white. Projects will be fired again and gently slumped into a soft curved square mold.
