Our next walk is on Saturday February 28th 2026 in Coventry City Centre.We meet outside the main entrance to Coventry train station to begin the walk at 11.00 am.
If all you know about Coventry is the legend of Lady Godiva riding naked round the city and the blitz, which in 1940 gutted the medieval cathedral, come and join us to find out something of what happened in between these events. During the walk we will unearth some of the history that has made the city a special place. We will find:
Constructions of the medieval city, in churches , public buildings and half timbered houses. Reminders of Coventry's role as a leading city in the country and links with royalty.
We will also discover traces and evidence of many branches of industry which have flourished in the city over the centries - true blue cloth making and weaving, watch making, bicycles, cars, military vehicles and aircraft and more.
During the walk we will have a break for lunch, so please bring food if you wish to eat. The walk is mostly paved and even, please have appropriate footwear. It is about four miles in distance.
For those coming by public transport from central Birmingham, there are frequent trains from New Street station, which take between 20-30 minutes.
For those coming by car there are a few car parks near the station , including the station car park. The postcode for Coventry station is CV1 2GT.
