ADHD/Autism Creative and connective peer Support Group in Cairns!The Rainbow Connection series will provide inclusive, creative and therapeutic workshops for neurodivergent folk to connect, create and understand more about your life and experiences, supported by ND coach and art therapist Rachel Taplin.
If you are a neurospicy Cairns resident who would love to connect with your tribe, make art and be supported to be 100% you, in a safe, welcoming and creative space, then sign up today for one of our supportive art and discussion jams! This inclusive, art-based peer support group is designed for adults with ADHD and/or Autism (self or formally identified), to share, create, and connect in a way that feels good for you. Each session explores a different theme through group discussion and optional creative activities — no experience or “art skills” required.
Session Themes:
🌀 August 9 – The Diagnosis Rollercoaster
Explore the complex emotional journey of ADHD/AuDHD diagnosis — from grief and rage to relief and self-compassion. We’ll reflect on the past, share insights around identity, and discuss medication, misdiagnosis, and reclaiming our stories.
⚡ August 23 – Work, Capitalism & Burnout
Neurodivergence in a world obsessed with productivity. We’ll unpack masking, hustle culture, and energy crashes—and share real strategies for working with our wiring, not against it.
🌿 September 6 – Sensory Self-Care & Regulation
A hands-on exploration of sensory needs. Learn how to identify your own overload signs and discover sensory-soothing tools and rituals that truly support nervous system recovery and emotional wellbeing.
👪 September 13 – Parenting Neurodivergently
For ND parents and/or those raising ND kids. Come as you are—messy and magnificent. We’ll share stories, systems struggles, and strengths, and chat about how to parent and advocate in a world that often doesn’t get it.🧒 Kids welcome at this session! Parallel creative activities will be offered to keep little ones engaged.

You don’t need to be “on,” just bring your full self (or half is ok too, if its one of those days!). Masking optional, messiness welcome, and absolutely NO pressure to be anything but you.
All art materials will be provided for both open and guided art-making, themed chats where we can share our experiences, tips, tricks and life hacks, and gentle reflection in a space where masking is optional, sensory needs are respected, and your whole self is welcome — including all gender and sexual identities.
Facilitated by a neurodivergent therapist & coach with lived and professional experience.
