Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!! November's pick is the Academy Award-winning smash hit musical, CABARET! We will be discussing the film and earning prizes after the film. The goal for Rainbow Cinema Club is to help educate our community through the power of Queer Storytelling. There will also be two raffles after our discussion! We will be giving away a movie and a book with a bunch of goodies!
Snacks and water will be provided.
November's Pick: CABARET
1972 ‧ Musical/Drama ‧ 2 hour and 4 minutes ‧ English
Cambridge University student Brian Roberts arrives in Berlin without much money. He befriends another of the tenants, American Sally Bowles. She is outwardly a flamboyant, perpetually happy person who works as a singer at the decadent Kit Kat Klub, a cabaret-style venue. Sally draws Brian into her world, and initially wants him to be one of her many lovers. Sally and Brian's lives are affected by the wealthy Baron Maximilian von Heune. Along the way is the Nazi uprising that slowly rises to power around them.
Rated PG for suggestive content, mild violence, mild language, and smoking.
