#1 New York Times bestselling cartoonists Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud team up for a one-of-a-kind friendship story about creativity and self-expression that blends how-to and comics magic. Welcome to the club!
Magic City Books is thrilled to welcome bestselling authors Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud to celebrate the release of their brand new graphic novel, The Cartoonists Club on Monday, April 14 at the Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center (2520 S. Yorktown Avenue).
The books for the event will have a pre-signed bookplate exclusive to the tour. (There will not be a book-signing line.)
The event will run approximately 45 minutes long from beginning to end, including Q&A.
The 45 minute show will be followed by a photo opportunity with the authors in front of a special free standing backdrop that puts both the creators and attendees into a comic setting as if it were taken from a page within the book!
Tickets for this event all include a signed copy of The Cartoonists Club ($14.99 value). There are two ticket types available for the event:
- Two (2) seats and one (1) book
- One (1) seat and one (1) book
All books will be available for pickup at the event.
If you have a ticket and are unable to attend the event, you will be able to pick up your book at Magic City Books during normal business hours. The last day for ticket holders to pick up The Cartoonists Club by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud is Friday, May 30, 2025.
More About the Book: Makayla is bursting with ideas but doesn't know how to make them into a story. Howard loves to draw, but he struggles to come up with ideas and his dad thinks comics are a waste of time. Lynda constantly draws in her sketchbook but keeps focusing on what she feels are mistakes, and Art simply loves being creative and is excited to try something new. They come together to form The Cartoonists Club, where kids can learn about making comics and use their creativity and imagination for their own storytelling adventures!
