About this Event
Lite movement/yoga, breathwork, meditation. We will warm the body up to drop into the breath. From there, we will work our way into meditation with the mindfulness technique, RAIN.
RAIN is a mindfulness technique that welcomes and affirms all experiences. Meditation allows one to make space for even the most challenging internal experience. Often we get caught up in the trance of our thoughts, which can often be negative. With RAIN, one learns to identify difficult feelings/thoughts; how to make space for them; and consider where the limitations come from, how to set oneself free. The closing part of this meditation is crucial as one learns how to deeply resource what they need in any given moment, which resets our nervous system and allows us to rebuild a trusting relationship with what is.
Practicing RAIN is a gateway to radical self-compassion that will shine a light on your inner life as a process that is perfect just the way it is.
In the first four classes, we will break down, individually the four elements of the technique-recognize, allow, inquiry, nurture/need. The second four classes will focus on each of these topics through the complete process of RAIN: What are you resisting? Get unstuck. RAIN for depression. Self-love and Acceptance.
Expect hand-outs, and invitations to practice in the weeks between classes, and to develop a deeper understanding and acceptance of your inner experience so that you can reach more freedom!
