Celebrate our railway heritage with fun activities for all ages. Say Happy 75th Birthday to our steam locomotive Greenmount as she steams for your enjoyment. Welcome our latest acquisition historic diesel loco GM1 - Australia's first mainline diesel in service. As well as the Railway Museum collection, there are model trains, a railway swap meet, activities for children and displays from Metronet, a historic railway road coach from Bus Preservation Society as well as the local railway preservation groups. All this for just the usual admission charge.A free shuttle bus will run from Bassendean Railway Station, so save yourself the parking hassles and come by train. Railfest runs from 10am to 4pm.
