Join us to celebrate 200 years of the modern railway. Railway 200 is a national celebation of 200 years since the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway in September 1825. Events will be taking place across the country, and here in Midsomer Norton we will be joining in.All the home fleet will be in action giving you a chance to ride in a variety of trains. We will have the Class 107 DMU running, alternating with the Mark 1 coaches top and tailed by D1120 and the 08 shunter D4095.
Trains will run every 30 minutes from 10.00am with the last train departing at 3.30pm. There will be a break for lunch during which the Wickham Trolley will do a limited number of runs.
The museum will be open, along with the WW2 Pill Box and Anderson Shelter. Refreshmens will be available from the Buffet, including cream teas (please book to avoid disappointment). The station shop and The Emporium (our second hand book shop & model railway store) will be open.
Gala Tickets allow you to travel on all the different trains throughout the day (subject to space).
