About this Event
Are you getting ready to host the family or making plans to wrangle the whole family for holiday travel? Are you just now learning the hard way what perimenopause and menopause actually do to a woman's body and mind?
Join us for a discussion with authors Kristin Bair and Lara Ehrlich of the Raging Women Collective, a collective of woman-identifying authors whose work explores women’s rage in its many forms—uniting to amplify each other’s voices, foster community, and ignite conversations about power, transformation, and storytelling.
We will also be joined by instructors from Title Boxing of North Andover with mitts and gloves who will help us get that rage out! We also plan to have a signature 'punch' to unwind afterward.
The protagonist in Kristin Bair’s fourth novel, Clementine Crane Prefers Not To, is a one-woman whirlwind, managing every aspect of her family’s life—until she hits her breaking point. Kristin is also the author of Agatha Arch Is Afraid of Everything—named a Best New Book by People magazine—along with The Art of Floating and Thirsty. Her essays have appeared in The Gettysburg Review, The Baltimore Review, The Christian Science Monitor, Poets & Writers Magazine, and more. Kristin teaches annually at the Yale Writers’ Workshop, has spoken at literary events across the U.S. and China, and serves as Associate Fiction Editor for Pangyrus. She lives north of Boston with her family.
Lara Ehrlich is the author of the novel Bind Me Tighter Still, in which mother and daughter mermaids navigate starting over and finding their place in the world. Her story collection Animal Wife, about women's transformations from girls into wives, mothers, and monsters, won Red Hen Press’s Fiction Award judged by Ann Hood. Her writing has appeared in Literary Hub, Scary Mommy, and numerous journals and anthologies. She is the founder and director of Thought Fox Writers Den, a creative writing center in Mystic, CT, and the host of Writer Mother Monster, a conversation series about dismantling the myth of “having it all.” Lara lives in Connecticut with her husband, daughter, and an ever-growing stack of books.
