Introducing the Raging Elk Fernie Frosty Four!We're excited to bring you a brand-new winter event that will have you embracing the season in all its frosty glory—the Raging Elk Fernie Frosty Four! This exhilarating multisport race is a celebration of winter fun at Fernie Alpine Resort.
What is the Fernie Frosty Four?
The Fernie Frosty Four is a unique relay-style race featuring four iconic winter activities at Fernie Alpine Resort: skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and fat biking. Each sport represents one stage of the race, ensuring an exciting challenge from start to finish.
While the race offers a competitive element for those eager to push their limits, the heart of the event is all about fun, adventure, and community. You can take on the challenge solo—testing your endurance across all four disciplines—or form a team, each member tackling a different leg. Costumes are highly encouraged—so get creative and add some flair to your race-day look!
This event perfectly blends personal challenges with team camaraderie, making it an unforgettable experience. Whether racing for the podium or looking for a unique way to wrap up the winter season, the Fernie Frosty Four is for you!
The 4 Stages:

Stage 1 – Ski/Snowboard: Kick off the race with an exhilarating descent down Falling Star on your skis or a snowboard.
Stage 2 – Snowshoe: Swap your skis or board for snowshoes and trek up the stunning Double Creek Trail, winding through the woods toward the cross-country trail network.
Stage 3 – Nordic Ski: Glide along the Silk & Manchuria loop, enjoying the serene beauty of Fernie's cross-country trails.
Stage 4 – Fat Bike: Finish strong as you hop on your fat bike and cruise back to the base via the Timberline Multi-Use Trail Loop, leading to the finish line and post-race celebration!
Post-Race Celebration
Once you cross the finish line, head to the plaza to celebrate with fellow racers. Your entry fee includes a burger and beverage, so grab a bite, swap race stories, and enjoy the awards ceremony. A live DJ will keep the energy high as we close out the winter season with good vibes and great company!
