About this Event

The Raffles Lighthouse Tour is a 5-hours tour (including a 1-hour guided tour of the Singapore Maritime Gallery) that brings participants on a ferry, starting from Marina South Pier. Cruise through the bustling Singapore Strait, where towering ships navigate our waters, showcasing the heart of our maritime industry. As you approach the horizon, you will discover the enchanting Raffles Lighthouse, an iconic beacon with a rich history. Step ashore to learn about the lighthouse and visit the heritage gallery. Join us for an immersive maritime journey, where the past meets the present against the breathtaking backdrop of the open sea!

1145 - 1200H: Registration and Tour Briefing

1200 - 1300H: Singapore Maritime Gallery Guided Tour

1300 - 1430H: Depart for Raffles Lighthouse on board a ferry

1430 - 1530H: Disembark at Pulau Satumu for Raffles Lighthouse Tour

1530 - 1700H: Return to Marina South Pier

Set off from Marina South Pier and spot the various types of vessels plying Singapore’s waters. Learn of their unique characteristics, what cargo they carry and how they contribute to Singapore’s economy.


  • Sentosa / Pulau Sebarok / Pulau Semakau

Get up close to Sentosa, Singapore's premium island getaway, and the large oil storage tanks of Pulau Sebarok and understand its role in supporting shipping activities.   • Raffles Lighthouse (include visit to Heritage Gallery)

Learn more about the importance of lighthouses as landmarks guiding ships in their navigation around Singapore waters. Raffles Lighthouse built in 1855 is one of the oldest lighthouses that is still in operation. It is situated at the southern-most point of Singapore, marking the turning point for vessels travelling along the busy navigational channel in the Strait of Singapore.

Adjacent to the iconic Raffles Lighthouse, the Heritage Gallery is a treasure trove of maritime history. Explore the rich legacy of the lighthouse and its keepers, accompanied by fascinating artefacts that offer a glimpse into the past. By Car

Due to limited parking lots available, it is recommended to take public transport to Marina South Pier. The next nearest available parking lot is at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, which is a 15 minutes walk away.

Important Note

1. Access to the top of the lighthouse is restricted to ensure the continued preservation of the lighthouse.

2. Participants must be above 12 years old to join the Raffles Lighthouse Tour, and those below 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

3. To be eligible for the concession student rate, participants must present a valid student pass* during registration. Participants without valid documentary proof of identity would not be able to attend the tour.

4. To be eligible for the concession senior rate (60 years and above), participants must present a valid photo identity card** during registration. Participants without valid documentary proof of identity would not be able to attend the tour.

5. Please be dressed comfortably and wear covered shoes. Strictly no slippers and sandals are allowed due to safety considerations. Participants are also advised not to wear skirts or dresses on ferry tours as there might be steep staircases on board.


* “valid student pass” refers to any student identification card (e.g., matriculation card, student pass) issued by a Singapore-based education institute, regardless of whether the said education institute is a public or private institution.

** “valid photo identity card” refers to documents such as Passport, Identification Card, Driving License, Ez-link card with an accompanying photo of yourself, PAssion Silver Card, PAssion Silver Concession Card, Pioneer Generation Card, and Merdeka Generation Card.
