Rafael Lovato Jr. will be teaching 2 sessions. From 10am-12pm NOGI (MMA style grappling) 12:30-2:30 GI. Advanced purchase tickets to both sessions are $169. Individual sessions are $ 109. water/snacks will be provided. Group discount tickets are available ($1500 for 12)This is your chance to learn directly from the living legend himself. First person to win every @ibjjf @cbjjoficial Major Adult Black Belt 🥋 titles in history! 8 of 8 ✅ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
After @adcc_official last year the IBJJF finally awarded me with my plaque for being the first athlete to win the Gi Grand Slam in history in 2007. I started thinking about how I still had some 🔥 left in tank & I set out on a new mission, to win the final NoGi titles I didn’t have & make history one more time!
I already won the NoGi Worlds 3x so I just needed to win the Euro, Pan, & Brasileiro NoGi. I won the Euro & Pan titles last year & only had one more left to win this year. To make it even more special, the Brasileiro Sem Kimono is held in Rio. The place where I competed in my first Mundial back in 1999 & the place I went when I decided to go all in on Jiu-Jitsu & dropped out of college to live in Brazil for 4 months. I lived in Rio at the @scottyotm house & dedicated myself fully to Jiu-Jitsu under the mentorship of my Sensei @sapaupulopo & my brother @xanderibeirojj. Knowing that this tournament was held just minutes away from where I lived & all the memories I have here in 🇧🇷 made it even more special for me.
Being in my 40’s preparing & fighting these three events competing against the young beasts from around the world took everything I had! The dedication to continue to evolve & keep myself in top physical condition at this age requires a discipline very few can understand. But it was more than worth it ❤️🔥
I’ve been making history for nearly two decades. I never thought I would go this far, especially after everything I went through with my MMA career, but I live the @timeless_jiujitsu & @lastround_bestround mindset to the fullest & I know that everything great comes only after you push yourself past the limits you thought you had.
I couldn’t do this without the love & support of my wife @diana.lovato1, my team @lovatobjjmma @lovatojjassociation @sixbladesjiujitsu, & all my Jiu-Jitsu brothers out there who have been by my side for a decade plus…
Feeling another level of gratitude for this journey & satisfaction with what I’ve accomplished. I will remember this final run forever ♾️ Thank you all 🙏
