Join a unique walking tour of the historic neighbourhood of Dublin 8 led by Irish poet Julie Morrissy, which follows her work as the first Poet-in-Residence at the National Library of Ireland. Delving into the crucial contributions made by women in the revolutionary period, Morrissy will share poems, stories, and insights about the locations which informed and inspired her book and podcast Radical! Women and the Irish Revolution.

This walking tour will depart from St James' Church on James' Street in Dublin 8.

Julie Morrissy was the first Poet-in-Residence at the National Library of Ireland. Her project Radical! Women and the Irish Revolution comprises a poetry pamphlet and a podcast series. Her work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Newman Fellowship in Creativity, the Arts Council of Ireland ‘Next Generation’ Award, and the MAKE Theatre Award. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Ulster University, and separate degrees in literature, and law. Her first collection Where, the Mile End was published by Book*hug (Canada) and tall-lighthouse (UK). She will deliver the 2023 Hibernian Lecture at the University of Notre Dame.
