Beth Moore Yoga Medicine ® Therapeutic Specialist and Nina Casto 500 E-RYT, LMT, Therapeutic Sound Specialist are excited to finally team up to offer this simple yet profound practice to calm, invigorate, and help you feel at ease and cozy in your body. As trauma-informed specialists certified in similar modalities they will combined yin and restorative theraputic asanas, myofascial release, with sound therapy to create a truly unique and special event.
"Letting go of what doesn't serve us" seems like a fairly simple concept, but in reality is often easier said than done! Modern society hardwires into us the need to constantly strive, do better, and reach for more; it's no wonder we sometimes find ourselves instinctively going for the bigger stretch and the fancier pose on our mats, too. We'll challenge these tendencies with a series of gentle-focused theraputic poses and a mindset of moderation while, also exploring a few exercises to help tone the vagus nerve inconjuction with the soothing sounds of crystal bowls and some other delightful sound healing instruments.
What does it feel like to sit with what's already here, instead of automatically grasping for more?
Aside from connecting to deep and subtle physical sensation, we'll also be tapping into the proprioceptive powers of these tissues: since many of them report back to the brain on the internal conditions of the body, the stimulus of this combined with the frequencies of theraputic sound also provides a calming input for the entire nervous system, facilitating a body-wide downshift to leave you feeling tuned in, calm, and refreshed. You'll most likely be pleasantly surprised at the resulting sensation of freedom and ease in your body and mind as you leave your mat.
