Come and sing and make some joyful noise with us! For 12 weeks, we’ll get together to explore music, community, and the power of raising our voices, whether that’s through reimagined classics or brand-new songs.
About RACKET!
RACKET! Community Choir aims to bring people together to create music that speaks to the issues that matter to us. We believe that singing together builds community resilience,
celebrates our collective power, and helps us imagine better futures. Whether we're adapting classic protest songs or creating entirely new material, every voice counts.
This isn't about anger or confrontation. It's about connection, joy, and the transformative power of raising our voices together.
What to Expect
● No experience necessary - Never sung in a choir? Perfect. Just bring your voice and your sense of fun.
● Collaborative & participant-led - Singer-songwriter Marc Rooney will facilitate our sessions and guide us through
songwriting techniques, the group will decide together
which issues we want to address and how we want to express them musically. We'll start with simple arrangements, but the musical direction will evolve based on what the group wants to explore.
● Creative freedom - Some weeks we’ll make songs from scratch. Other weeks we’ll give old tunes a new twist. Your ideas are always welcome.
● Drop-in friendly - Come when you can, though coming regularly helps you get the most
out of the experience.

● When: Weekly on Thursdays, 6:30–8:00pm First Session: Thursday 20th November
● Duration: 12 weekly sessions (Nov–Mar, with a 4-week Christmas break)
● Where: The Bureau Centre for the Arts, Blackburn
