This all day in-person workshop is crafted specifically for adoptive parents, providing a compassionate space to delve into the complexities of race and racism through the lens of the transracial/interracial adoptee experience.

Key Learning Objectives:

• Fostering Race Conversations: Learn practical strategies for initiating and sustaining conversations about race with your BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) adoptees, regardless of their age. Explore ways to create a safe and supportive environment for these discussions within your family.
• Engaging with Extended Community: Gain insights into navigating conversations about race and racism with extended family members and the broader community. Discover the importance of building a network of support that embraces diversity and promotes cultural understanding.
• Empowering Children: Equip yourself with tools and techniques to help your child(ren) understand, identify, and navigate race and racism beyond the confines of your home. Explore age-appropriate approaches to fostering resilience and confidence in facing racial challenges.
