Accompanied by Romain Louveau on piano, François Chaignaud presents a programme of short pieces, reviving the tradition of the recital, which played a major role in the advent of modern choreography in the 20th century. He devises a recital based on the work of Isadora Duncan, whom he has been studying with Elisabeth Schwartz since 2015.“In my opinion, the purpose of dance is to express the noblest and deepest feelings of the human soul, those that come from Apollo, Pan, Bacchus and Aphrodite. It must establish a warm and lively harmony in our lives; it would be an insult to it to see it merely as a frivolous or pleasant form of entertainment.” – Isadora Duncan (1877-1927).
