On the 28th of December 2024, Jake Smith(17, from Naseby, Maniototo) came off his motorbike while on an annual ride he and his father go on every year. Following 26 nights in ICU at Christchurch Hospital Jake has now been transferred to Burwood Spinal unit.Jake is currently head boy at Maniototo Area School and talented sportsman, mentor and friend to many, and is a key member of our school and community.
We are a group that are committed to raising funds for Jake to help him with his new way of life, living in a wheelchair. We are holding a Quiz night, complete with auctions and raffles.
