QUINTETO LA BORDONA - 'Celebración de Tango' Verloren gewaande tango’s en milonga’s

Het tango-kwintet La Bordona brengt beroemde klassieke tango’s en bestaat uit een groep bevriende musici uit Buenos Aires, Parijs en Amsterdam. Dit project is uniek omdat de meeste van deze stukken al jarenlang niet live zijn uitgevoerd. Op basis van de legendarische vinylcollectie van de bassist van dit kwintet werd een keuze uit stukken gemaakt. De transcripties van deze beroemde en dikwijls verloren gewaande opnames vormen de basis van een nieuw, uitzonderlijk tango-repertoire. Tango’s, walsen en milonga’s wisselen elkaar af in een programma dat wordt gespeeld door tango-musici met een uitgebreide internationale ervaring.
Quinteto La Bordona debuteerde in 1999 op het Fringe Festival in Edinburgh met de voorstelling Destino Tango, geproduceerd door theatergroep Orkater. Sindsdien speelde het kwintet op tal van internationale podia en festivals, waaronder Buenos Aires, Parijs, Lyon, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima en vele andere Japanse steden.
Alle leden van La Bordona zullen de bezoeker van dit concert wellicht herkennen uit tal van andere bekende (internationale) tango-ensembles, waaronder, El Arranque, Quinteto Zárate, El Después, en Sonico.

Long-lost tangos and milongas
The tango quintet La Bordona performs famous classical tangos and consists of a group of befriended musicians from Buenos Aires, Paris and Amsterdam. This is an unique project because most of these pieces have not been performed live for years. A selection of pieces was made based on the legendary vinyl collection of the bassist of this quintet. The transcriptions of these famous and often thought to be lost recordings form the basis of a new, exceptional tango repertoire. Tangos, waltzes and milongas alternate in a program played by tango musicians with extensive international experience.
Quinteto La Bordona made its debut at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh in 1999 with the performance Destino Tango, produced by theater group Orkater. Since then, the quintet has played at numerous international venues and festivals, including Buenos Aires, Paris, Lyon, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and many other Japanese cities.
