Sewist Level: Confident Beginner & Above(note, the jacket design in the photo is for posting only; each jacket will be a unique creation based on your fabric choices).
Whether you have an old quilt you want to put to good use or want to repurpose a sweatshirt, Quilt Jackets are as unique as the one sewing them. Join us for a Quilted Jacket Class to put your sewing & quilting skills on display so others can see your handywork.
Grab an old (or buy a new one) sweatshirt to use as your template and batting - at least ONE SIZE LARGER and how you like it fit. Then, choose from any collection of fabric here at the shop - this can be yardage from the bolt or can be precuts, or even scraps from your own stash. Another option would be to use up any extra blocks you have left over from previous quilt projects or you could pre-make a variety of quilt squares (any size, any design, multiple sizes if you prefer). Make sure you have plenty.
Here are the Supplies Needed:
1 Sweatshirt (at least one size larger)
Fabric Scraps, extra Quilt Blocks or stash yardage, shop fabric
Basic Notions - Thread, snips, Rotary Cutter, Seam Ripper*
Large Scissors
Sewing Machine in good working order
Walking Foot (Hobby lobby, Amazon, or I can special order)
Zipper or Buttons to match fabrics*
*These items can be purchased from the shop at the class time.
Class will be on Thursday October 23rd, and I am offering 2 sessions that day - a morning session and an evening session.
Morning session will be from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
Evening session will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
**When registering, please be sure to choose the correct time slot you wish to attend.
Class Fee is $30 per person and does not include supplies, fabric, etc. Registration is required; space is limited. You can register via the Tickets link in the event page or by stopping by the shop before the day of class.
