"Quiet Revolution" is a new project by 2 Korean artists, Ki Young and gamin, who have been living and working in the US for a number of years. These musicians were provoked by the widespread loss of philosophy, introspection, and spirit in today's arts and music, brought upon by accelerating trends that prioritize materialism and commercialization over meaning. Through experimentation with traditional Korean musical structure and instruments, the artists attempt to break through the artificial boundaries among musical forms, thereby regaining the universality that music can provide as it transcends fixed patterns and time periods.
String Noise is a classical, avant-punk violin duo comprised of violinists Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim Harris. Since its inception in 2011 at Ostrava New Music Days, they have expanded the two violin repertoire in over 50 new works to include larger collaborations with multimedia art, electronics, video projections, opera and dance.
Their first feature album "The Book of Strange Positions" was released on NORTHERN SPY RECORDS in November 2015 and a 7” inch EP “Covers” produced by Deerhoof drummer and composer Greg Saunier is also available on Northern Spy Records.
