SwervDay is back again for the 5th year! Come join us for our best party of the year. We keep the party going late as any proper SwervDay party should go.The King and Queen of SwervDay will be crowned for a 5th time. Entry Fee: $30 Includes Lunch and Refreshments (Gatorade/water/soda). Payment options and tournament details will be made available after registration.
FORMAT RULES
1, 2, and 3 star divisions will be available to those who qualify.
All players must initially register for the "GENERAL REGISTRATION DIVISION" of their gender. Anyone who wishes to play in the 3 or 2 star division must send an email to [email protected] placing themselves based on these guidelines.
I will be manually moving people that I personally know and reaching out via email to those I do not. The division lines I was intending on setting are as follows:
MEN
3 Star - Have advanced out of pool play in a local Men's beach doubles Open level tournament, or won 2 matches in an AVP sanctioned beach doubles Open level tournament, or won an AA level tournament (or A if AA was not available).
2 Star - Have played in any beach or grass doubles tournament at B level or higher.
1 Star - Casual and new beach volleyball players, indoor players without beach experience.
WOMEN
3 Star - Have advanced out of pool play in a local Women's beach doubles Open / AA / A level tournament, or won 2 matches in an AVP sanctioned beach doubles Open level tournament, or won a BB level tournament.
2 Star - Have played in any beach or grass doubles tournament at B level or higher.
1 Star - Casual and new beach volleyball players, indoor players without beach experience.
If I cannot find at least 16 people in the 3 star that meet the criteria I will begin moving up players at the top of the 2 star criteria.
All players are expected to have basic experience playing beach doubles and understand the rules around hand setting.
The first half of the day will be 4 games of single-gender pool play. Everyone will play with new partners and different opponents in every game.
We will break for lunch once pool play is over, while the scores are being entered. Everyone will be ranked by both their wins/losses, as well as their point differential.
The men and women who share the same rank from pool play will be partners in the Coed half of the tournament. (Ie- #1 Man plays with #1 Woman, #2 Man plays with #2 Woman, etc.)
All players with a partner will then play a single elimination tournament in each division for the chance to win!
There will be cash prizes for the winners, as well as their picture immortalized on the SwervCup.
