Fortune Teller is the brainchild of seasoned musician Ross McLennan who has toured extensively with his previous bands Ingested, Viscera and Abhorrent Decimation. Paired with Grammy long-listed producer Meyrick De La Fuente on keys and video game composer and guitarist Ian Rockett, Fortune Teller has the objective of making riff laden modern power metal with anthemic and melodic chorus hooks.

Fronted by the experienced and charismatic vocalist Theresa Smith of Metaprism, the band make the mission statement of ‘big riffs and catchy singalong choruses’ their priority.

Crown Solace was formed in 2020 in Aberdeen Scotland by Guitarist and Songwriter Valentyn Tkach. He was looking to create symphonic metal with modern twist, breaking the mould for the genre and adding something new that would set the band aside from its already established counterparts.

Val enlisted the talents of Bass player and harsh vocalist, Callum Hutchinson along with soprano Ally Watson

The group released their debut single Obscured Reality to great reviews however shortly after they parted ways with their vocalist Ally

Val approached countertenor Pete Rawcliffe after hearing his work on Instagram and asked if he would be interested on trying his vocals on a track they had prepared for the original vocalist – Pete was up for the challenge and the guys liked what he did, resulting in him becoming the new vocalist for Crown Solace.

The single Horizons was released on the 18th of February. Drawing inspiration form bands such as Nightwish , Amaranthe , Architects and Epica , this bombastic symphonic metal track is sure to get noticed from its originality and divergence from the normal tropes within the genre. The main point of difference is Pete’s trained sopranist voice coupled with Callum’s hardcore screams – a combo that’s never been done before!
