Bunnell Street Arts Center welcomes storytellers Quentin Simeon & Amber Webb as artists in residence from February 2 - 15th, 2026. Join them for an artist talk and community potluck on Wednesday, February 4th at 6pm, at Bunnell Street Arts Center. Please bring a dish to share!Quentin Simeon and Amber Webb are creating a stop motion animation of Simeon’s new screenplay about Yup’ik culture and the “War of the Eye.”
Quentin Simeon is a Yup’ik storyteller who now lives on Kachemak Bay. He was raised on the Kuskokwim River, fishing and hunting. Camp and family traditions of harvesting the bounty of the Land and Rivers of the region are the foundations of his cultural relationships with land and water. He has worked as an Alaska Native cultural liaison and intercultural communication specialist.
Amber Webb is a Yup’ik artist/activist from Curyung/Dillingham, Alaska. Through portraiture and textiles, her work visually explores the effects of colonization and the evolution and strength of Indigenous people after genocide and intergenerational trauma. She uses pictorial Yup’ik storytelling to communicate contemporary stories of oppression, historic trauma, resilience, humor, changing climate, motherhood, and resistance.
This residency is supported by the National Performance Network and the National Endowment for the Arts.
