About this Event
Queering Up and Decolonizing Mindfulness Meditation: Cultivating Queer Community Resilience
Join Dr. Hy V. Huynh (they/he), a queer/non-binary Buddhist, Vietnamese diaspora mindfulness teacher, for a 4-week intro course to mindfulness meditation at the Practice Space in Durham, NC from Tuesday, April 23 - May 14th, 2024. Specifically curated for the queer and trans community, this course goes beyond conventional mindfulness courses to demystify and decolonize mindfulness meditation to reclaim wisdom and resiliency practices that have long belonged to the queer and trans (and BIPOC) community. We will explore core foundations such as mindfulness of the body, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs, while cultivating essential heart practices such as lovingkindness and self-compassion, equipping us with the practices needed to bring a renewed sense of presence and resilience to ourselves, our community, and the world.
