About this Event
Join facilitators Rebecca Kidnie, Garrett Obrycki, and Molly Burke for an immersive exploration into ritual, gathering, and spirituality through a queer lens. **Queer Recital: Reclaiming the Ritual** is a unique two-day experience designed to cultivate reflection, community, and introspection for queer individuals and allies alike.
For many, queerness and spirituality are deeply intertwined in ways that can feel both complex and illuminating. This experience seeks to acknowledge that journey — one that is often marked by discovery, isolation, and a profound longing for community and self-expression. The facilitators will guide you through a thoughtful, collaborative space where ritual is reimagined to affirm and celebrate queer identity and the sacredness of gathering.
Inspired by a transformative collaboration in Los Angeles earlier this year, this series is divided into two parts:
**Workshop on Creating Queer Rituals**
November 30th, 1-3p PM
Through guided discussions and creative exercises, participants will collectively explore how to craft rituals and "sermons" that resonate with their personal and shared journeys. This workshop aims to help you reclaim the beauty of ceremony in ways that speak to queer experience, fostering healing and connection.
**Queer Service**
December 1st, 11:00 AM*
This concluding ceremony will be a full queer service, embracing the richness of ritual to create a space of reflection, emotional resonance, and shared presence. Together, we will reimagine traditional structures in a way that transcends and honors our unique stories.
Please join us after the service for coffee hour provided by The MOUTH in the Brooklyn Art Haus Lounge.
