About this Event
Queer Spectrum Film Festival (QSFF), founded by Pradeep Mahadeshwar, is Ireland's first-ever film festival dedicated to amplifying the narratives and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals of colour and immigrants.
In collaboration with Limerick Alternative Pride, Mahadeshwar has been invited to curate a selection of short films by LGBTQIA+ BIPOC filmmakers to showcase as part of AONTACHT. This selection was made with QSFF Co-Programmer Lee Isac.
The films at this showcase will explore the themes of migrancy, displacement, body movement, diversity, memories and in a search for/transitioning into a new world.
Pradeep Mahadeshwar is a Dublin-based visual artist and activist from India. He uses a variety of mediums in his practice including storytelling, writing, illustrations and moving image. His work aims to explore the visibility (and lack thereof) of queer people of colour living in Ireland. He is also an associate artist with Museum of Everyone, and the founder of Queer Asian Pride Ireland.
This event, and all events at Limerick Alternative Pride, are for people over the age of 18 only.
This project is funded by Creative Ireland and Limerick City and County Council through
Creative Ireland Made in Limerick 2024, and The Rowan Trust-Dublin Pride Regional and Radical Pride Fund.
