Come practice mindfulness with fellow queer and trans community! Queer Refuge is a space for people who identify across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum to connect for meditation and conversation amidst challenging times. Hosted by queer nonbinary mindfulness teacher Dawn Haney, at the Durango Dharma Center, Sunday, October 19, 6:30-8pCOST: There is no registration fee, and donations are always welcome. If you can, please sign up (for free) so we have a sense of how many will be coming, but if you forget, please simply show up.

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Dawn Haney (they/she) braids together wisdom from Buddhism and social justice traditions, understanding identity, power, and change through their own experiences as a white, fat, queer, nonbinary femme. After a few years of reading everything she could find by Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh, and the Dalai Lama, Dawn started Buddhist practice with the Durango Dharma Center in 2008. A former co-director with the Buddhist Peace Fellowship, they teach with the East Bay Meditation Center and the global Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program.
