Join us for an evening of Queer celebration and joy to raise money for Operation Sandbag House.
Queer liberation includes our unhoused neighbours. Queer folks in our community are more likely to experience homelessness at some point in our lives, and members of our Queer community live in every single encampment across Waterloo Region. According to recent data collection, more than 50% of local unhoused youth are queer and experience homophobia and transphobia regularly while living rough.
Operation Sandbag House is building safer shelters for our unhoused neighbours at the 100Vic Encampment. Our sandbag structures are extremely fire-resistant, properly insulated, well-ventilated, safe to heat, and rat-proof. We need your support to continue our mission of providing safer structures for encampment residents who want them.
So dance the night away, watch impressive drag performances, bid on local art and goodies with us, and help support our Queer, unhoused neighbours.
