Queer Open Stage Downtown | Next Event - QUEERAOKE - Wed, Dec 17th
Advertisement
December's Queer Open Stage will be a Queeraoke (queer karaoke) event and social on December 17th!
Bring your favourite sing-along (or non-sing-along) and a friend, and we'll bring the snacks, tea, art supplies, fidgets, fairy lights, and karaoke supplies :)
We wanted to provide everyone some time to be social in a lower pressure setting than a quiet audience, so that we can all get to know each other and relax during a stressful, sometime lonely time of year. The usual Queer Open Stage will resume in January.
⌚Show up at 6:30 pm to sign up, or e-mail for early sign-up.
Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided! Yum 🙂
(please review accessibility info for theDock below, regardless of your needs)
This event is presented by the Victoria Downtown Residents Association (https://www.victoriadra.ca/), and is hosted by Sara Rose Hébert (they/them).
💛 NOTE: Allies are welcome as audience members but performance spots are reserved for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks.
We also need VOLUNTEERS! Just a bit of set up, door, and tear down. The more hands we have, the lighter the workload for all of us! You can find more details by following the sign-up link below.

Each month there will be a featured performer:
January's featured performer will be singer-songwriter Elbow Kiss!
~About Elbow Kiss~
Elbow Kiss is an experimental folk project by Em Boreen (they/them), based in lekwungen territory (Victoria BC Canada). Elbow Kiss humbly draws inspiration from classic country and folk, as well as modern folk, indie and pop. Em plucks guitar, harp, and heart strings, gently dredging up deep seeds of queer yearning, nostalgia, heartbreak. Love songs to ghosts. They also appear on vocals in local dream punk band, Ghost Darling.
