A crafty session for neurodiverse queer folk!
About this Event

Are you queer and neurodiverse and/or have experience of a mental health condition*?

Do you think your queerness has affected your relationship with your mind or that your neurodiversity and/or your experiences with mental health have affected your relationship with queerness?

Do you want to come to a crafty session and make some art and talk to other neurodiverse queer folk? Then come join us!

The faciliator:

Cerys Bradley is a stand-up comedian and writer. They're working with Ingenious Fools and illustrator and crafty person Hana Ayoob to make a zine about queer experiences of neurodiversity and mental health conditions.

Why are they doing this?

Cerys (they/them) is writing a new stand-up show about being autistic and non-binary and the overlap between these two expressions of their self.

They’re really interested in queer experiences of neurodiversity and mental health conditions and the queerness of the mind.

They want to make a zine to distribute to audiences after their show and share a wider variety of experiences and stories than just their own.

How to get involved:

Come to our zine workshop and make a zine page about your experiences of neurodiversity and/or mental health conditions.

If you want to, you can then submit your page to the zine (but you don't have to, you're very welcome to come and get crafty and enjoy the snacks...).

*for this workshop, we’re using very broad definitions of neurodiversity and mental health conditions. Self-diagnosis is valid and all are welcome.

Accessibility:

The Centre's accessibility statement is here.

The event is specifically for neurodiverse people. It will be relaxed - people can come and go as they please.

The faciliator is working on getting a sign language interpreter or captioner, but currently can't guarantee that.
