About this Event
Global Queer Asias Series: A Collaboration between The Center for Feminist Futures, Department of Feminist Studies, and Center for Taiwan Studies
Global Queer Asias presents Prof. Shana Ye (University of Toronto) author of Queer Chimerica.
Blending archival work, ethnography, and cultural analysis with memoir, graphic arts, and science fiction, Queer Chimerica unpacks the ways in which the transnational circulation of queer culture, politics, and institutions are structured through the antagonist interdependence of China and the United States. Queer Chimerica crosses genres and genders theoretically and methodologically. This workshop is designed for those curious about the possibilities of engaging in and deploying queer speculative methodologies in their scholarship.
is available open access and we encourage participants to peruse the book before the workshop.
