About this Event
Come play with simple and nourishing improvisational movement inquiries in a Queer-centric context. This class offers time to land into our creativity, playfulness, authenticity, and embodied presence together through dance. There are no steps to learn, and no prior experience is necessary. This class is a dive into the magic of improvisation in the collective, and participants will be supported to listen to their own instinctive currents of rhythm, gesture, shaping space, while weaving a field of resonant play through simple attunement. LIke playing jazz together but with body movements, catching fire together by sourcing within and echoing currents rippling through the room. Sometimes we move with music, other times with soundscapes of nature, or the song of silence. Katriona (she/they) has recently moved home to Victoria from California, and is bringing some deep magic to share, gathered from their studies in Authentic Movement, Movement-Based Expressive Arts, and Soul Motion, from the diverse dance world in Big Sur, California. Come check it out!
