It’s summer time, and that means it’s time for big, dumb summer blockbusters where aliens attack, dinosaurs roam the earth, and sweaty muscle people wrestle with one another on screen for our enjoyment! As queer folks, we might not have always identified with the macho, camoflaged heroes walking around with big guns and even bigger guns. But we’re grown now! It’s a new era, where fighting for our lives has more than one meaning and action stars can (and should) be queer!
This month, our beautiful LGBTQIA+ film “professors” will cover their favorite punch-punch, explode-y movies that helped them see this genre in a different light. Maybe it’s for the camp factor. Maybe it’s for the adrenaline of it all. And maybe it’s just because hot, sweaty bodies are fun to watch on screen! Whatever your reasons, we hope you’ll GET TO THE CHOPPER and join us!
Everyone is welcome, as always! And the show is entirely free.
Doors open at 7pm; show starts at 7:30pm.
Reverie Books will be there selling queer-themed merch. And Mochi Mochi, the anime-themed drag show, will happen afterward!
