Get your queer art fix at Queer Easels Vol 8! The show will take place on Sat June 22, 2024 in the front bar of The Gaythering 1409 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139 . The event is free to attend but if you RSVP it helps us prepare for the evening and stay connected.
Three local queer artists will be present and representing their art for you to enjoy and bring home your next favorite piece and support a starving artist. Bring a friend, grab a drink, and chat up the artists about their work - all artwork is for sale and most artist accept venmo, cash app, or cold HARD cash.
This is our Eigth edition of Queer Easels thanks to our amazing hosts at the Gaythering! Each volume of Queer Easels will feature new art not previously featured at our monthly shows.(some artists may repeat but get to see their new work!)
About Vol. 8 artists:
Robert is a queer artist living in South Beach. He is a sea level rise adaptation planner with a background in landscape architecture, biology, and chemistry, and his work explores themes of natural history, change, deep connection, and intentional disconnection. As a member of Tierra Media Project, he and other Latin American designers and artists seek to celebrate and challenge the relationships between Latinidad and the natural world.
Introducing Corbin Grates:
He is a mixed media artist working on both ceramics and 2 dimensional works. Subtropical vibes vibrate through his work as he reflects the lush natural beauty of South Florida and the Caribbean in his pieces.
Patrick is a mixed media based artist based in Miami Beach Florida and is the organizer of the Queer Easels Show! Most of my work is based on photos I or my friends/hubby have taken. I print the photos on canvas or archival cotton rag (typically Hahnemuhle), then add layers of acrylic paint and/or encaustic wax. I paint what I like – fish and men.
