Join us on Saturday June 24th from 1:30 to 3 for a clothing/craft supply exchange and clothing alteration crafts Oaklands Park!
---
TL;DR - Free clothing & craft exchange + clothing adornments and alterations craft. Bring your gently used clothes and art supplies, go home with new ones. Craft while you're at it!
---
Come join us to exchange clothes and craft supplies! We'll also do some embroidering on our new clothes, finish up any outstanding linocut (or try our hand at it for the first time), and explore a few other clothing alteration/adornment options we'll have. And as always, you're welcome to bring your own craft or just hang out!
CLOTHING/CRAFT EXCHANGE INFO - Bring craft and clothes supplies, go home with new ones, all free! We welcome clean, gently used clothes and arts and craft supplies. We will sort (by type of item, not size or gender) and lay out everything on sheets, clotheslines, tables, and bins and everyone can go through it at their leisure. You do not have to bring things to participate in the exchange. Any leftover items will be donated to local non-profits.
CRAFT PROJECT - We will also have a little workshop on embroidering onto clothes with a guest host (TBA)! In addition, we will have our linocut supplies from last time, clothing pastels and markers, and other things to adorn or adjust your clothes.
OTHER EVENT INFO - And we will have ice cream! With gluten free and vegan options.
No need to signup before hand to reserve a spot or supplies. We’ll have plenty to go around!
Other tips:
-We are on the lawn, which lacks seating options. We will try to bring some camp chairs, but if you do need a seat, we also encourage you to bring your own.
-There is limited shade! If it's sunny out, we highly recommend sun screen and other protective measures.
-Bring a bag for your clothes. We will also try to bring extra.

Accessibility information:
PARK INFO - Oaklands Park is within the square of Kings, Shakespeare, Ryan, and Victor. The park has free parking on Kings rd, a few bike racks, and a wide paved pathway. We will be on the grass, but will bring some chairs if people need to be sitting in a chair. If there is a rain in the forecast, we will bring a 10x10 awning to help keep the rain off. The park has gendered accessible public bathrooms on site. There is an all-genders bathroom at Koffi on Haultain and we can provide change so you can buy a drink and use that bathroom instead if you'd like. If you can't find us, message the page!
RESPIRATORY DISEASE INFO (E.G., COVID) - Please do not come if you have any symptoms of COVID or other contagious diseases or you have recently been in contact with someone who has displayed symptoms. We will practice some general physical distancing. If you're comfy being closer than 6 feet with people outside your social circle, we ask you check with them first. We will have hand sanitizer available for you to use before accessing food. Supplies will be shared. The facilitators aren't planning on wearing masks outside and they are optional for participants.
FOOD INFO - We will make sure to have some snacks that are gluten-free and vegan, and nothing will have peanuts. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, please let us know.
EXTRA SUPPLIES - We will have band-aids, naloxone, sun screen, hand sanitizer, and bus tickets to take.
Before coming, please check over our community agreement, which we can adjust together as needed https://docs.google.com/.../1AJBVF.../edit...If there's anything we can do to make this event more accessible for you, don't hesitate to reach out. You can message us or email [email protected]

These events will be taking place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Lkwungen speaking peoples of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We would like to acknowledge the rich and vibrant artistic practices of the Coast Salish Nations as well as those across Turtle Island that, along with their people, have faced persecution and attempted destruction by forces of colonization both past and present. Great honour and respect to the generations that have worked to keep these traditions alive, and to all those contributing to their revitalization today.
