It's that special time......for......Queer Climbers Unite! The Public Event version!✨About: This is a casual meetup, to connect with other 2SLGBTQ+ (Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, plus plus plus!) who climb in Calgary. All bodies and experience levels welcome, including beginners. This is a "challenge by choice" event, meaning we support all the ways you choose to participate, or not. ?
✨How: Meet us at the front desk area at 6:00 PM to connect. We will be officially starting at 6:15 with introductions and forming climbing groups, on the walls at 6:30 pm. If you can't come by 6:30, please be sure to come and introduce yourself on the walls!
✨Location: Calgary Climbing Center, Rocky Mountain. Please note that this event is community-based and not officially hosted by/affiliated with the CCC.
✨Bathrooms/Change rooms: Wow this is the ONLY CCC gym with gender-neutral bathroom! The gender neutral bathroom (single stall) is on the top floor, close to the stairs on the North side of the gym. Just ask Tobias and he will direct you! There are also binary gendered spaces - two bathrooms/change rooms marked male and female. We can facilitate a buddy system for anyone who would like. Please feel free to PM the organizers for support/planning (and general conversations about overthrowing the cis-tem).
✨Accessibility: There are no stairs into the rocky location. The Rocky location has an elevator going to the top floor. Inside, there is no ramp on to the climbing mats (one small step up to the mats). Please feel free to contact the organizers with any and all accessibility questions.
✨You do not need to come with a climbing partner. At this event, we swap partners throughout so you can meet lots of new fabulous people to climb with ♥
✨COVID-19 gym protocols in place and will be followed during our time together
