About this Event
Exploring found objects through drawing, mark-making and storytelling, we will create our own interpretations of the objects, dreaming up our own queer symbols or stories connected to them.
Bring something that represents your connection to the sea and coast as a queer / LGBTQIA+ person (this could be: an object, a memory, a fact, a story, a song…)
We will take it in turns to share, creating connections and helping us to get to know each other a bit better.
Hannah Buckingham is an interdisciplinary artist, maker and facilitator, based in Portsmouth, UK. Speaking through symbols, folklore, and the interrelation of all things, their work aims to explore how identity and belonging are embodied in our environment and the senses.
FREE art workshops for 16-24-year-old LGBTQIA+ people (and allies!) at Studio KIND. Participants will be provided with a £5 travel bursary for each activity attended. Made possible by the Places To Go, Things To Do fund from Devon County Council
