After such a successful community clothing swap and album release party at the SF LGBT Center this fall, this event is coming back every season! This winter we are celebrating a little holi-gay fun in the warmth of our chosen family. Finally, a non-denominational holiday party free of judgment, free of christmas music, and free of consumerism! ‘Tis the season for style & sustainability y’al!
Clear out your closets and join us for a free clothes swap, hot cocoa, and a mindfulness mending circle!
WHAT TO BRING: 1-2 bags of gently used clothes to swap, 1 garment for mending activity (optional, sewing kits provided while supplies last!)
This is a multi-faceted event offering a little something for everyone. Here’s what you can expect:
- A free clothes swap (please bring 1-2 bags of gently used clothes: any season, any size, any gender expression!)
- Mindfulness mending circle: got some clothes you’ve been meaning to sew, patch up, or upcycle? bring em! we’ll fix up our faves and make new friends through a light mindfulness exercise while we sew, mend, and breathe new life into old garments. (sewing kits provided while supplies last, any skill level welcome!)
- Warm tea, hot cocoa, snacks & treats (this is a alcohol-free event!)
- Vibey laid back music (an escape from the department store christmas music!)
- Queer community hang/opportunity to meet new people in a relaxed, low-pressure environment!
Come with an open heart and a bag of clothes to donate, and leave with a new treasure and a new friend. There's nothing like the bouncy, bubbly feeling of hanging out with the community. Don't miss this!
