About this Event
Get ready to throw it back to the 80s with a night of retro curling fun! This themed event is open to anyone —whether you're a new curler, a club member, or visiting from another state.
We’ll be using horsehair brooms, rocking 80s outfits, and lighting up the rink with a disco ball. Teams of 3 will play short-format ends, with each player throwing 2 stones. Expect 5-6 ends in a round-robin format, with a small prize for the winning team based on total points scored —and of course, a prize for best dressed!
Whether you're here to compete or just to vibe, this is a great chance to mingle, play, and celebrate curling with a twist to round out the year.
All equipment is supplied by the Queensland Curling Association (QCA).

Note: We strongly recommend attending a 'Come and Try' event if you're interested in attending the 80s night, so you have a basic understanding of the game!
What to wear:
- Bring loose, comfortable, warm clothing (no tight jeans!) - dressing up in 80's theme!
- Closed-in footwear with good grip
- Gloves (optional)
