About this Event
What is QCE?

Queen’s Conference on Education is the largest student-run conference at Queen’s University. Over the past 21 years, QCE has welcomed upwards of 150 delegates each year, with attendance from both domestic and international delegates and presenters. Those engaging with the conference come from diverse backgrounds and attend QCE with the goal to network, grow, and learn about education.

Delegates can expect to attend two dynamic keynote speakers, four workshops to explore their educational interests, and opportunities to engage with experienced educators through socials and panel discussions.

**Unfortunately, at this time, only Queen's students are able to register for the in-person conference, due to the University's COVID-19 guidelines. We encourage delegates from outside of Queen's to register for the online conference. If the regulations change, online delegates will be notified and will be given the opportunity to register for the in-person conference.**

Conference Theme:

"Evolving and Adapting as a Global Learning Community"

For QCE 2022, we have pivoted the focus of this year’s conference on building connections and safe spaces in education through our theme: Evolving and Adapting as a Global Learning Community. In our conference, we will focus on the role of educators as much more than a facilitator of curriculum, but as role models who are able to foster a safe space to prepare students to reach their full potential.

What's Included?
  • Two keynote speakers
  • A special lunch-time presentation
  • Four workshops that explore the themes of: Diversifying and Decolonizing Curriculums; Health and Wellness; Connecting Globally; Education through a different lens
  • Interactive Q&A Panels of one of the following topics: Education Beyond the Classroom; Creating Inclusive Spaces and Recognizing Positionality; Practical Classroom Strategies for Primary/Junior Teachers; Practical Classroom Strategies for Intermediate/Senior Teachers
  • A number of catered meals over the course of the weekend
  • A formal banquet and social with all delegates
  • A great opportunity to meet peers, and professionals from both similar and different backgrounds, who all share a similar passion for education

The online version of the conference will consist of the same keynote and panel presentations and it will have workshops that follow the same themes, but are designed specifically to be run online.
